Structural Geology and Geology of Earthquakes

Investigation of earthquake sources is a highly active and rapidly developing field involving several different disciplines. Among them, the study of exhumed faults and shear zones is a powerful tool to envision which kind of material, structures, and mechanism of deformation are expected to be found in modern active margins, providing the opportunity to investigate fault processes at different crustal levels. The research work involves field observation and collection of structural data, sampling and microstructural investigations.
